CCLLittle League® International Restructures its Teenage Divisions

Since its founding in 1939, Little League® International has paved the way in creating opportunities for children to have an organized sporting activity in their community. Continuing the organization’s efforts to provide local league volunteers and families with the best support and structure for operating local Little League programs, the Little League International Board of Directors approved the restructuring of its baseball and softball programs, dissolving the Big League Baseball and Big League Softball divisions, and capping participation in the Little League program for children 16 years old.

sanbern152aLittle League® Recognized San Bernardino Attack Victims, First Responders at Special Ceremony During Western Regional Tournament Championship

To pay homage to the victims of the December 2, 2015, terrorist attack at the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino, Calif., and recognize the first responders, Little League® International held a special on-field ceremony at the Little League Baseball® Western Regional Tournament on Saturday, Aug. 13 at Al Houghton Stadium in San Bernardino. The ceremony took place prior to the Little League Baseball West Region Championship Game. Game collections from the day were donated to the Arrowhead United Way’s San Bernardino United Relief Fund.

Little League® International remembers ESPN’s John Saunders. He was 61. Mr. Saunders, was a member of the ESPN stable of on-air talent for more than 30 years. He covered college football, basketball and the National Hockey League for the ESPN family of networks, and also was a regular anchor on the network’s flagship news program, SportsCenter .
